Video Games
Like the rest of today’s media video games does play a role and have some affect on us. Whether it’s educational violent or even neutral all of those affect the people who play them. Video games have its good and bad depending on what group is playing them young or old. Violent video games have become a big concern in our society. These have showed to have some of the biggest affect on people young or old. Young children who play these games have showed to have more aggressive behavior. As parents it is our responsibility to control and monitor what we allow children to come in contact with especially during a child’s learning stage. Educational games are a good way of allowing kids to have fun and learn something at that the same time. Video games have a rating system where on every case the games are rated for what age group it is suitable. Violent video games do have and affect on the older age groups as well. We have seen cases where aggressive behavior was displayed among an older person because of a video game. In those cases I do not think that it is only the game makers fault because as individuals we all know right from wrong and we all make a chose on what we do. So what that said I have nothing against violent video games I think we as parents or just adult gamers have to know our limit.

I agree with the idea that although video gamesa are violent, we as a society have been hopefully taught by someone, partents, teachers, ect that violence is wrong however there are some kids who never learn that because instead of interacting with their kids, parents buy them video games and use that as well as television as a babysitter. The people who are reacting badly to violent video games are the people who do not have great support systems or guidence in their lives, not to say that there could be some exceptions. In my opinion, violent video games only encourage violent behavior and desensor us to violence. I know that when I watch a movie with my mother or grandmother killing, swearing, sexuality, or just violence in general they gasp and are offended by those things where as I am not phased at all. That is because our generation has become almost numb to these issues and we no longer think of them as issues. We dont see anything wrong with people being rude or mean to each other or swearing at each other. This sort of desenorization in our generation only means its probably getting worse in youger generations and violent video games only encourage this sort of behavior more. There arent many positive aspects of violent video games.
